WHERE’S MY JAWLINE GONE?
It can feel like your jawline disappeared overnight. Usually, it didn’t — the changes have been happening gradually until one day you catch yourself in the mirror and suddenly notice them.
As the face changes over time, the lower face can start to look softer. You might notice the beginnings of jowls, less definition between your face and neck, or simply that the shape you used to have isn’t as clear anymore.
And there isn’t one treatment that fixes every disappearing jawline.

THE ANSWER ISN’T AUTOMATICALLY JAWLINE FILLER.
Adding filler directly along the jaw can be useful for some people, but only when it’s actually going to improve what’s bothering them.
Sometimes the area around the jowls needs blending. Sometimes the chin plays a part in the overall balance of the lower face. Sometimes fullness beneath the chin is making the jawline look less defined. And sometimes the changes you’re seeing are more about the skin itself.
That’s why I’d rather work out why your jawline looks different before deciding what — if anything — to put where.
WHAT MIGHT HELP?
JOWL LIFT / BLENDING
Careful treatment around the lower face can soften the appearance of jowls and create a smoother transition along the jawline without trying to build an entirely new jaw.
CHIN
For some people, a small change to the chin can improve the balance and definition of the lower face. It isn’t about making your chin bigger — it’s about whether treating it would improve the overall shape.
JAWLINE
Where extra definition would genuinely help, filler can be used selectively along the jawline. The aim is natural definition, not an exaggerated or overly sharp result.
FAT DISSOLVING — CHIN/JAW
If fullness beneath the chin or around the jaw is contributing to the problem, fat dissolving may be an option rather than adding more volume with filler.
FACIAL BALANCING
Sometimes the jawline is only one part of what has changed. Looking at the face as a whole can help avoid over-treating one area while missing what’s actually making the difference.
